Take care and spend a little extra time to ensure you get it right the first time.
This makes sense when considering ROI.
For web design and website development the phrase still applies, no one wants a site that doesn't perform in the search engines. It is a waste of time, money and effort. We recognise this and take the time to design our sites around the all important search engine optimisation from the beginning. We build our sites to be optimised towards specific keywords, those that people are likely to be searching for, this is not as some would have you believe difficult. It takes a little more time, but the owner of the site will reap the rewards ten fold as long as it is done well.
By developing a website with search engine friendliness in mind we remove the need to tack SEO on at the end or after six months, when the site owner finally realises they are not going to appear in google, let alone compete with the other 8 million sites that do. This SEO after approach can be extremely expensive as a large portion of SEO is just good website design and forward planning. Obviously this takes extra time, but is definitely worth it.
In developing a site we start with:
Keywords + theme which go into each of the following: > Design > Pages > Page names > Headings > Images> CONTENT with lots of relevant text and writing about the website's theme> cross links > Site map ... The list goes on, but you hopefully get the idea every page should relate to the sites theme
This is not to say that each page is a hopeless pile of gibberish with 50% keywords, instead it is a well written spell checked, easy to navigate flow of useful information about the chosen theme that the website should is following. We design once and develop once so that time can be spent on writing great content for the site, not going back over it again and again trying to get it right.
