Is the basis for SEO techniques and good website design, a website must be built with search engines in mind so that a search engine can index (see 'what is a search engine?') the search engine can only see text so a site should always make this text ewasy for the search engine to understand and index into its database. Aims is to "optimise" or improve a websites visibility in search engines usually by targeting specific keywords or search terms, that the designer has chosen because of their frequent use as search terms in search engines. The basics should be done by any good website designer, the more complicated and in depth work is most efficiently done by a specialist in conjunction with a web designer. The big search engines are: Google, MSN and Yahoo (there are many others). They all gather a huge database of the websites on the internet (a process called 'indexing') and make them searchable, This allows users of the internet to find relevant information quickly and easily. Any time anyone wants to find something they use a search engine.
Myself and my business partner manage Pople Web Design, one of the key areas we see as different to other web designers is we split the design and development roles. I develop HTML and CSS and he creates brilliant designs, we work closly together, we do not just toss the design over a wall for the developer to interperate how he likes, we design in the same room and we develop in the same room ensuring that the final product is economic to make, high quality and exactly what the customer expects. We are currently taking on new people to work with us in our office and with our customers if you are interested please contact us. |
